Climate Cartography - Portland

🌲 Portland 🌲 Join us March 7th in the shop from 12-3PM for a day on Climate Cartography! We will be joined by Nick Record, a senior research scientist at the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences and our very own Jiwana Soleimani, an illustrator with a focus on sustainable ecosystems, for an informative discussion on maps and their methodologies 🗺️📍 Learn about the relationships of maps and data as they connect, cause, track, and mitigate climate issues and solutions. 

Maps are all around us - but what are they actually doing?
Our friend Nick will discuss how they can expose hidden power relationships, equip people with the capacity to act, and more. 

We’ll end the discussion viewing some maps made by artists across different times and cultures before diving into making our own climate maps! What do you want your future to look like? Basic supplies will be provided but we encourage you to bring your preferred mediums to use as well 🎨🖌️
